Beef and Bean Patties

1 beaten egg
½ cup Minute Rice
1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon instant minced onion
¾ teaspoon garlic salt
¼ teaspoon seasoned pepper
1 pound lean ground beef
1 16-ounce can barbecue beans
2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Dash bottled hot pepper sauce
½ cup shredded sharp American cheese (2 ounces)
Preparation Method:
In bowl combine egg, uncooked rice, water, onion, garlic salt, and seasoned pepper. Add beef; mix well. Shape into six 4-inch patties. Place in 12×7 ½ x2-inch baking dish. Micro-cook, covered, till done, about 6 to 7 minutes, rearranging patties in dish after 4 minutes. Spoon off excess fat. Combine beans, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and hot pepper sauce. Spoon over patties. Micro-cook, covered, till heated through, about 4 minutes, turning dish after 2 minutes. Top with cheese. Micro-cook, uncovered, till cheese melts, about 1 minutes. Serve at once. Serves 6.
