Hot Buttered Lemonade Recipe

Items Required:

½ cup sugar
6 inches stick cinnamon
6 whole allspice
4 whole cloves
½ cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons brandy or rum (optional)
Butter or margarine

Preparation Method:

In a 4-cup glass measure combine sugar and 2 cups water. Loosely tie spices in cheesecloth; add to sugar mixture. Micro-cook, uncovered, till boiling, about 6 to 7 minutes. Let stand 30 minutes. Stir in brandy or rum, if desired. Serve in mugs. Top each serving with about 1 teaspoon butter. Serve with cinnamon stick stirrers, if desired. Makes 4 (6-ounce) servings.
