Surprise Cream Pie Recipe

Preparation Method:
Prepare Crumb Curst: In 9-inch glass pie plate micro-melt 5 tablespoons butter, about 45 seconds. Stir in 1 ¼ cups finely crushed graham crackers and ¼ cup sugar. Press over bottom and sides of pie plate. Micro-cook, uncovered, 2 minutes, turning dish after 1 minute.
Break up two 1-ounce milk chocolate candy bars and arrange over hot crust; spread till smooth. Set crust aside.
In 4-cup glass measure combine one 4 ½ -or 5-ounce package regular vanilla pudding mix and 3 cups milk. Micro-cook, uncovered, 3 minutes. Stir. Micro-cook, uncovered, till pudding thickens and bubbles, about 2 to 3 minutes more, stirring after each minute. Stir half of the hot pudding into 2 slightly beaten egg yolks. Return to hot mixture. Micro-cook 1 minute more. Pour into prepared crust.
In small bowl beat 2 egg whites with ½ teaspoon vanilla and ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar till soft peaks form. Gradually add ¼ cup sugar, beating till stiff peaks form. Spread atop pie, sealing to edges of crust.
