Basic White Sauce Recipe

Ingredients:

- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk

Preparation Method:

In 1 1/2 -quart casserole, combine melted butter; flour and salt. Gradually add milk; stir until smooth. Microwave at MEDIUM (5) 5 to 7 minutes, until sauce is thickened, stirring every minute with a wire whisk.

Cheese Sauce: Stir in 1/2 to 3/4 cup shredded cheese. Microwave at MEDIUM (5) 1 minute, if necessary, to completely melt cheese.

Curry Sauce: Stir to 1 to 2 teaspoons curry powder.
Horseradish Sauce: Stir in 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish.

Total Microwave Cooking Time 5 to 7 Minutes
Makes 1 cup
