BEEF STEW WITH WINE
This French beef stew is also called Boeuf Bourguignon. Serve with buttered wide noodles.

Preparation Method:

Make basic Beef Stew (left), except omit potatoes and celery. Add 1 can (6-oz.) tomato paste 1 can (8-oz.) mushrooms, drained and substitute 1 cup red burgundy for 1 cup of the water.

Insert temperature probe so tip rests on bottom of dish, halfway between center and side. Use cover; or cover tightly with plastic wrap, arranging loosely around probe to vent. Attach cable end at receptacle. Microwave at Automatic Simmer 6 to 8 Hours. Stir before serving. If desired, garnish each serving with crumbled bacon, (Microwave 4 to 6 strips bacon at High 4 to 6 minutes.), and chopped parsley.
