Bohemian Steak

Ingredients:

2 lb. round steak, tenderized or pounded with meat mallet
2 cups thinly sliced onion
1/2 cup water
1 can (12-oz.) beer
1 can (10-oz.) beef gravy
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup cold water
2 tablespoons unsifted all-purpose flour

Preparation Method:

Cut round steak into 8 to 10 serving size pieces. In 3qt. casserole layer meat and onion.
Measure water into 1-qt measure. Add beer, gravy, sugar, salt, garlic and pepper and mix well. Pour over meat and onions. Cover. Microwave at Medium 80 to 90 Minutes, rearranging meat after 50 Minutes.

Stir together water and flour. Gradually add to stew, mixing well. Microwave at Medium 3 to 4 Minutes, uncovered, until thickened. Stir well. Top with Fluffy Dumplings (below). Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Fluffy Dumplings:

In small bowl mix together 2 cups buttermilk biscuit mix, 2/3 cup milk and 1 tablespoon parsley flakes just until moistened. Drop by tablespoonfuls around edges of hot stew. Cove. Microwave at Medium High 4 to 5 Minutes, until done.
