Grits And Cheese Casserole Recipe

Ingredients:

4 cups hot tap water
1 cup quick grits
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter, sliced
8 oz. pasteurized processed cheese cut into cubes
2 eggs, beaten Milk
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Dash hot pepper sauce (tabasco)
1 cup coarsley crushed corn flakes
2 tablespoons butter paprika

Preparation Method:

In 3-qt. casserole place water, grits and salt. Microwave at High 10 to 12 Minutes, stirring after 5 minutes.
Add butter and cheese to grits. Mix well. Microwave at High 1 to 2 Minutes, until melted, stirring well.

In 1-cup measure beat eggs and fill to 1 cup line with milk. Add garlic powder and pepper sauce. Quickly stir into grits. Pour into well greased 12×8x2-in dish.

Sprinkle corn flakes over top. Dot with butter. Sprinkle with paprika. Microwave at High 17 to 19 Minutes, rotating dish 1/2 turn after 9 minutes, until set. Serve in squares Especially good with ham.

Makes 8 to 10 servings 1 roll (5-oz.) garlic cheese may be substituted for processed cheese and garlic powder. Reduce final cooking time bt about 2 minutes.
