Pinto Beans Recipe
Ingredients:
1 pkg. (1-lb.) beans, rinsed
4 cups water
1 ham hock
1 small onion, sliced
preparation Method:
In 3-qt. casserole place beans, water, ham hock and onion. Cover. Microwave at High 30 Minutes, stirring after 1/2 time. Microwave at Medium 1 Hour 40 Minutes to 1 Hour 50 Minutes, until tender. Stir every 45 Minutes.
For let’s Eat Bean Soup:
Remove ham hock. Cut meat into small pieces and return to casserole. Add water to thin soup as desired. Cover. Microwave to heat. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
