Ingredients:
1 pkg (2-layer) cake mix, any flavor
1 pkg. (8-oz.) cream cheese, softened
4 eggs
2/3 cup soft shortening
1/4 cup water
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
Preparation Method:
In large mixer bowl place cake mix, cream cheese, eggs, shortening, water and vanilla. Blend on low speed of mixer until just moistened, then beat 4 minutes at medium speed.
Fold nuts into batter. After microwaving, top cooled cake with quick glaze and garnish with nuts if desired.
Quick Galze:
Stir together 1 cup sifted confectioners sugar, 1 to 2 tablespoons milk or hot water, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1/8 teaspoon salt.
