Spicy Steaks Strips Recipe

This is a variation of Greek Beef Stew, called Stifado. A good dinner dish to serve with rice, salad and hard rolls.
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
2 lb. round steak, cut in strips
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup chopped onion
1 can (6-oz.) tomato paste
1/2 cup red wine
2 tablespoons vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
1 small stick cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon cumin
2 tablespoons raisins
Preparation Method:
In 3-qt. casserole place butter. Microwave at High 1/2 Minute, until melted. Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper. Stir into melted butter until each piece is coated. Sprinkle onions over meat.
In small bowl mix together tomato paste, wine, vinegar, brown sugar, garlic, bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, cumin and raisins. Pour over meat and onions. Cover. Microwave at Low 75 to 85 Minutes, stirring after 40 minutes, until tender. Let stand 10 to 15 minutes before servings.
