Clam Chowder

Item required
2 slices bacon
2 cans (61/2 oz. each) minced clams, undrained
1 large potato, finely chopped
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 medium carrot, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/3 cup milk 1 cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper Parsley

Setting: HIGH
1. Place bacon slices in 2-quart glass casserole.
2. MICROWAVE for 2 to 21/2 MINUTES or until crisp. Remove bacon; crumble, and set aside. Add clam liquid, potato, onion and carrot to bacon drippings; cover.
3. MICROWAVE for 8 to 10 MINUTES or until veg-etables are partly cooked. Blend flour with 1/3cup milk. Stir into cooked vegetable mixture. Mix in 1 cup milk, salt, pepper and clams; recover.
4. MICROWAVE for 4 MINUTES. Stir and MICRO-WAVE for 2 to 3 MINUTES or until mixture comes to a boil. Let stand, covered, 3 minutes. Garnish with crumbled bacon and parsley and serve.
3 to 4 Servings
TIP MICROWAVE on MEDIUM for 5 MINUTES and then 3 to 4 MINUTES in step 3.
